| Parenting is
one of the most demanding and important tasks that anyone can undertake. Without a
supportive extended family who are able to help or a friendly and caring community, the
demands can become just too much particularly when compounded by other stresses and
problems. |

Home-Start is the leading family support organisation in the UK, it gives
hope to families. Our simple approach is to offer the support of a volunteer to a family
who is facing difficulties and has at least one child under five. The volunteer's ability
to offer friendship, practical help and support enables families to cope with the
pressures they are facing and can often be enough to reduce the potential for family
breakdown and child abuse.

service we provide is unique and there is a great demand for new Home-Start schemes across
the UK.
The national organisation of
Home-Start provides policy, training, information, guidance, quality assurance and support
to Home-Start schemes across the UK and with British Forces in Germany and Cyprus. |
